In anticipation of the expansion of the Panama canal in 2016, Port Miami has successfully completed the deep dredge project in order to accept post Panamax Super Cargo Ships. Port Miami will be the only port that will handle the super-sized Panamax vessels south of Virginia and is expected to have a massive impact on commerce across South Florida.
